The first round of presidential elections in Poland took place on June 20, 2010. However the name of Poland’s new president will be known only after the 2nd round of elections on July 4, the Institute of World Policy in cooperation with the PAUCI Foundation organized a videoconference between Kyiv and Warsaw in order to bring together Ukrainian and Polish experts and political observers and discuss the impact of Polish elections on the state of relations between both countries.

PAUCI Foundation announces results of the competition to participate in the study visits program for NGO representatives from 4 Eastern Partnership countries: Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and Georgia. 20 NGO representatives will carry out two-week study visits to one of the three other participating countries. Study visits will take place in June-July this year.

Presentation of the report "Ukraine. The Changing of the Guard" took place at the PAUCI Warsaw office on the 22nd of April 2010. The report has been prepared by Jan Piekło, Director of the PAUCI Foundation, in cooperation with the Institute of Public Affairs. Presentation was followed by a debate on current issues of Ukrainian politics.

PAUCI Foundation has developed and published a manual containing detailed description of existing programs, priorities, and formal procedures of the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument, which is currently the largest program of EU’s financial assistance targeted at its’ neighbouring countries, including Ukraine.

Following the initiative of the Villa Decius Association Sergio Vieira de Mello Prize was established in the year 2003 with an aim to promote democracy and tolerance, and to pay tribute to Sergio Vieira de Mello, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.This year deadline for submitting applications is June 30.

The Fifth Kyiv Dialogue has started its work in Berlin today. This year international forum is called “Green New Deal – Ukrainian-style?” and covers issues related to energy security and transparency, European energy market tendencies and Ukraine’s role in it, as well as role and perspectives of energy-efficient technologies implementation in reducing import demand.
